Chard Fireworks is a type of Beet grown specifically for its large, tasty leaves and stems.

It comes in a range of five vibrant colours and is easy to grow and hardy. 

Baby leaves are used in salad, large leaves are used like spinach and stems can be used like celery or steamed.

 

Sow March - July 1cm deep in modules or direct. Complete a second sowing to ensure a good supply all season. 

Full size plants should be 20cm apart in rows 30cm  apart.

 

Harvest by cutting stems just above the ground starting with the outside leaves.

 

Keep well watered and cover with fleece/cloche in winter.
