Sweet Pea have a strong scent and grow like pea plants, with long tendrils that curl around supportive structures to climb upwards. The Sweet Pea Painted Lady variety is bi-coloured white and pink.
They are well liked by bees and butterflies.
Sweet Peas are so well-loved in the UK, there is a National Sweet Pea Society established in 1900 and regular Sweet Pea competitions.
To Sow: Place seed 2cm deep in a rich compost in pots.

Sweet Peas are hardy annual so will survive a light frost. Keep plants 10cm apart from each other and provide with trellis or canes for climbing.
Feed with tomato fertiliser when buds start to form.
Sweet Peas bloom between June - September.
