Sunflower Seeds 'Velvet Queen' ORGANIC
Seeds per pack; approx. 8
Sow; March-May
Sunflowers (Helianthus annuus) are great for attracting bees, butterflies and other insects to your plot or garden. They produce loads of sunflower seeds that can be eaten, sprouted or left for the birds to eat.
They also make great cut flowers. Velvet Queen has dark copper/red to maroon coloured flowers with a very dark, almost black centre. It is a very attractive heirloom variety that grows to around 1.7 metres.
Sow from March - May, one seed per pot 1.5cm deep. Cover pots with a clear plastic bag and place them in a cool but bright place. Plant out young plants after the last frost.
OUR SEEDS ARE SPECIALLY SELECTED FOR UK CONDITIONS AND SOURCED FROM ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE, SOIL ASSOCIATED ORGANIC GROWERS. ALL OUR PACKAGING IS 100% RECYCLABLE, BIODEGRADABLE AND COMPOSTABLE.
