St John's Wort has been used for its herbal medicinal properties since the first century AD to reduce pain/skin inflammation and anxiety. More recently, it has been trailed as an anti-depressant, but this is still being explored and should only be taken when prescribed only by a medical herbalist.
St John's Wort is a hardy perennial, it is even flood resistant! It grows up to 1m in height and has bright yellow flowers that are enjoyed by bumblebees.
