Khol Rabi is a very unusual looking Brassica with a swollen stem that looks kind of like a turnip.

It is eaten when golf ball - tennis ball sized and has crisp, sweet flesh with smooth skin and kale like leaves that can also be eaten.

Blue Delikatess is an extremely attractive, purple/blue variety with white flesh and fantastic flavour.

It is bolt-resistant and can be used as an early and main crop.

Sow in succession from April until July thinly in drills 1cm deep.

Thin the plants as they grow to a distance of 15-20cm apart.

Or sow in Modules and transplant to 20cm apart from May.

Keep well-watered.

Harvest before they get too big as they can become woody, no bigger than a tennis ball.
