Sow; March-June

 

Sage Salvia officinalis is a perennial, evergreen herb, with woody stems, grayish leaves, and purple/blue flowers. It is a strongly-scented herb that can be used to flavour many vegetable or meat dishes. Fresh or dried leaves are used to make teas. 

 

Grow in a warm, sunny and sheltered spot with well draining soil..

 

Sow from March - June, in small pots and cover with a thin layer of compost. Place in a propagator to germinate, it can take up to 3 weeks to germinate.

Grow on until the plants are about 8 cm tall and transplant to final position, 60 cm apart.
