Chilli peppers come in an array of shapes, sizes, colours and of course heat. The hotness of different chillies has been measured using the Scoville scale.
Cayenna is a long, slender Cayenne variety of chilli. It is quick to grow and produces fairly hot fruits. It has a long cropping period and matures to red but can be eaten green.
Seeds can be started indoors/heated propagator from January - March at a temperature of 18 – 21 degrees C. When some true leaves have formed pot up into 8cm pots. Plant out 50cm apart in a greenhouse or polytunnel border when the plants are about 10 cm tall.
Liquid feed once the fruits have set. Harvest green when the fruits are ready or let the ripen to red.
