Sprouting broccoli/calabrese is a type of brassica grown for its flower heads and juicy stems, not unlike the broccoli you see in the supermarkets today but with much smaller heads.
Green Sprouting in an excellent tasting traditional variety that produces delicious broccoli heads over a prolonged period.
Sow seeds 1-2 cm deep, 45 cm apart in rows 60 cm apart.
Sow in a seed bed or in modules and transplant from May to Aug when 10 - 15 cm tall.
Harvest when the central head is well formed, before it flowers and then harvest the side shoots as they appear.
