Mustard leaves are members of the Brassica family and are very hardy. They can be grown throughout the winter, even under snow.
Osaka Purple is a very attractive variety of mustard leaf, with beautiful leaves of green and purple. It is a highly productive, slow to bolt and extremely hardy making it an invaluable salad leaf to use year round. Mature leaves can be used in stir-fries, baby leaves are good in salads.
Sow little and often for a continuous crop throughout the year. Plants are slow to bolt but we find summer crops are best grown in a shadier spot. During the colder months seeds should be sown undercover.
Seeds should be sown in modules at 0.5 - 1cm deep or direct at 20cm apart in rows 45 cm apart.
OUR SEEDS ARE SPECIALLY SELECTED FOR UK CONDITIONS AND SOURCED FROM ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE, SOIL ASSOCIATED ORGANIC GROWERS.
